Dear Luis:

(305) 532.7505
Thank you for speaking with Gen= Morera, my general manager, on
Wednesday, May 27, 1998. As outlined on our proposal, The Rod and.
Reel Club of Miami Beach, a non-profit organization in existence
for almost 70 years, is hosting a Kingfish tournament in March
1999. The profits and proceeds of this tournament will go to
enhance other non-profit events held in the Miami area such as the
Yamaha Contender, Miami Billfish Tournament, The Bob Lewis Billfish
Tournament and the MET Tournament a 63 year old tournament, that is
free and open to the public.
All of the above organizations are 501c3 corporations. The profits
from this event will not be retained or kept by any of the members
nor committee people of the corporation. The purpose of the
Kingfish tournament is to enhance tourism. We expect over 800
visitors in the Miami area in the initial year of this tournament.
There will be numerous events, all of which will benefit the Miami
area, this tournament showcases one of our own natural renewable
resources, our fish. You may or many not know that anglers are the
highest perdiem spending tourists of any group of tourists in the
world.
By March 1999, we need to obtain the rights to the areas of Watson
island that would allow us to park and stage the boats. March of
1999 is prior to the opening of the Parrot Jungle on Watson Island.
The organization will provide the necessary insurance and whatever
else the City of Miami may require. The Tournament will only be for
'The Worlds Best Fishing Club'

three days so we will only need parking for that time. If the City
of Miami is unable to arrange for a longer relationship than just
March 1999, we could of course arrange for parking at Dinner Key;
however, I would like to keep this a Miami event if possible.
The committee would like to be able to move forward knowing that
the parking matter has been taken care of. If you could arrange
for this event to be put on the City of Miami calendar agenda as
soon as possible I will be forever grateful.
As always I remain your friend,
