REVISED NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
As previously advertised, the City of Miami Commission has scheduled a special meeting on
September 14, 1998 in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive,
Miami, Florida. Pursuant to Motion 98-848, the City of Miami Commission will consider as the
first item of said meeting, beginning 4 p.m., a proposed resolution, with attachments, ratifying,
approving and confirming Mayor Joe Carollo's appointment of Donald H. Warshaw as City
Manager of the City of Miami.
The Commission will also consider other legislative issues, (including proposed emergency
ordinance amending Chapter IV, Article I, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida as amended,
entitled "Alcoholic Beverages" in general by adding new section 4-14 entitled "Coconut Grove
Central Commercial District (SD-2) distance requirements," to limit the number of four C.O.P.
quota alcoholic beverage license licensees within said district to five without regard to distance
requirements; however, that such establishments shall comply with the required distance
requirement from churches and shall have a distance requirement of 800 feet from schools.)
At 5 p.m., the City of Miami Commission will conduct a public hearing during said Special
Commission meeting for the purpose of imposing and providing for collection of fire rescue special
assessments for Fiscal Year 1998-1999. Legislative action may ensue.
Also, please be advised that the City Commission has deferred to its meeting of September 28,
1998, consideration of proposed second reading ordinances (amending Chapter 22 of the Code,
entitled "Garbage and Trash" by providing new definitions and providing for new regulations
concerning disposal of trash; and amending Chapter 22, Article I, Section 22-12 of the Code
entitled "Waste Fees," by exempting residential condominium associations and co-operatives and
co-operative associations from the assessment of supplemental waste fees).
Please be advised that the City of Miami Commission in its capacity as the Board of Directors of
the Community Redevelopment Agency (hereinafter referred to as CRA) for the Southeast
Overtown/Park West district and the Omni district will hold its next meeting on Monday,
September 14, 1998, in the Commission Chambers, City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami,
Florida, after 5 p.m., following the Special City of Miami Commission Meeting. The purpose of
said meeting is to consider approval of the proposed FY 1998-1999 Operating Budget of the
CRA, as well as a discussion regarding Poinciana Village.

NOTICE OF WORKSHOP
PLEASE ALL TAKE NOTICE THAT the City of Miami
Administration will conduct a workshop to inform the public and
obtain input in connection with proposed emergency ordinance
amending Chapter 4, Article 1, of the Code of the City of Miami,
Florida, as amended, entitled "Alcoholic Beverages, in general,"
by adding new Section 4-14 entitled "Coconut Grove Central
Commercial District (SD-2) distance requirements," to limit the
number of 4 C.O.P. quota alcoholic beverage license licensees
within said district to live without regard to distance requirements,
provided however that such establishments shall comply with the
required distance requirement from churches and shall have a
distance requirement of 800 feet from schools; containing a
repealer provision, severability clause and providing for an
effective date. Said workshop/meeting will be held on Friday,
