Pursuant to Motion 98-848, the City of Miami Commission will consider as the first item of said meeting, beginning 4 p.m., a proposed resolution, with attachments, ratifying, approving and confirming Mayor Joe Carollo's appointment of Donald H. Warshaw as City Manager of the City of Miami. The Commission will also consider other legislative issues, (including proposed emergency ordinance amending Chapter IV, Article I, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida as amended, entitled "Alcoholic Beverages" in general by adding new section 4-14 entitled "Coconut Grove Central Commercial District (SD-2) distance requirements," to limit the number of four C.O.P. quota alcoholic beverage license licensees within said district to five without regard to distance requirements; however, that such establishments shall comply with the required distance requirement from churches and shall have a distance requirement of 800 feet from schools.) At 5 p.m., the City of Miami Commission will conduct a public hearing during said Special Commission meeting for the purpose of imposing and providing for collection of fire rescue special assessments for Fiscal Year 1998-1999. Legislative action may ensue. Also, please be advised that the City Commission has deferred to its meeting of September 28, 1998, consideration of proposed second reading ordinances (amending Chapter 22 of the Code, entitled "Garbage and Trash" by providing new definitions and providing for new regulations concerning disposal of trash; and amending Chapter 22, Article I, Section 22-12 of the Code entitled "Waste Fees," by exempting residential condominium associations and co-operatives and co-operative associations from the assessment of supplemental waste fees).
