AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2/ARTICLE II OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION/MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION", BY ADDING LANGUAGE TO CLARIFY SECTION 4(g)(6) OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AS IT RELATES TO THE TIME WHEN THE REMOVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER BY THE MAYOR WILL TARE EFFECT; MORE PARTICULARLY BY ADDING NEW SECTION 2-37 TO SAID CODE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 4 (g) (6) of the City Charter provides that the mayor may remove the city manager subject to the City Commission conducting a hearing within 10 dayhosuch removal and the City Commission's overriding the mayion by a four -fifths (4/5ths) vote; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interestNof/ the citizens of Miami that a permanent change of the cit Janager be effectuated so as to assure a smooth tran 'tio or the administrative functions of the City of Miami; d WHEREAS, the Charter W ion regarding the permanent removal of the city aV the mayor allows for the City Commission to overr t yor's decision within 10 days is intended to provide f�ontinuity in city management; and WHE , notwithstanding the opinion of the city attorney that upo emoval of the city manager by the mayor the manager is
