HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-99-0922I � 4 -�� *' J-99-988 11/23/99 RESOLUTION NO. 9 9— 9 2 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID OF JULES BROTHERS UNIFORMS, INC., FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF FIREFIGHTER UNIFORMS, ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS, AT AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.280601.6.075. WHEREAS, the Department of Fire -Rescue requires uniforms for approximately 700 firefighters on an as -needed basis from a reliable source; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitations for Bid No. 98-99-169 were mailed to 42 potential providers of said uniforms; and WHEREAS, two (2) bids were received on October 13, 1999; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the Department of Fire -Rescue recommend that the bid received from Jules Brothers Uniforms, Inc., for the procurement of firefighter CITY COjqMSSION MEETIINC OF DEC1it1999 R-clution No. 99- 922 uniforms be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; and WHEREAS, funding is available from Account Code No. 001000.280601.6.075; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The bid received on October 13, 1999, from Jules Brothers Uniforms, Inc., for the provision of firefighter uniforms, on a contract basis for one (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, at an annual amount not to exceed $200,000, for the Department of Fire -Rescue, - 2 - 99- 922 is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account Code No. 001000.280601.6.075.
