Home My WebLink AboutR-99-0921J-99-992 11/30/99 RESOLUTION NO. 9 J - 921 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MICHIGAN INSTRUMENTS, INC., UNDER BID NO. 98-99-062, FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF CARDIAC PULMONARY RESUSCITATORS, ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS, AT A UNIT COST OF $4,637.58, FOR A TOTAL ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $27,825.48, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE RESCUE; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 313304, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 289401.6.850, FUNDED BY THE FIRE RESCUE ASSESSMENT. WHEREAS, the Department of Fire Rescue requires routine replacement of cardiac pulmonary resuscitators on its emergency response apparatus; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitations for Bid No. 98-99-062 were mailed to 12 potential providers of said equipment; and WHEREAS, three (3) bids were received on May 10, 1999; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the Department of Fire Rescue recommend that the bid received from Michigan CITY CQMmuSSIox DTEETING OF D E C 1 4 1999 hesolution No. 99- 921 a 2) Instruments, Inc., for the procurement of I cardiac pulmonary resuscitators be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; and WHEREAS, funding is available from Capital Improvement Project No. 313304, Account Code No. 289401.6.850, funded by the Fire Rescue Assessment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The May 10, 1999 bid received from Michigan Instruments Inc., for the provision of cardiac pulmonary resuscitators, on a contract basis for one (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, at a unit cost of $4,637.58 for a total annual amount not to exceed $27,825.48, for the Department of Fire Rescue, is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Capital - 2 - 99- 921 Improvement Project No. 313304, Account Code No. 289401.6.850, funded by the Hire Rescue Assessment. BACKGROUND The Department of Fire -Rescue requires routine replacement of cardiac pulmonary resuscitators which are carried on emergency response apparatus and used by emergency rescue personnel.
