RESOLUTION NO.9 " 90 "
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
ELECTING AND REAPPOINTING ALEJANDRO VILARELLO
AS CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA, TO HOLD OFFICE AS PROVIDED FOR IN
THE CITY CHARTER.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4 of the Charter of the City of.
Miami, Florida, as amended, the City Commission is obligated to
elect and appoint a City Attorney to hold office until the first
City Commission meeting following the next regular general
election; and
WHEREAS, Alejandro Vilarello has competently performed his
duties as City Attorney in a capable and professional manner;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference

thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Alejandro Vilarello is hereby elected and
reappointed as City Attorney of the City of Miami, Florida, to
hold office until the first City Commission meeting following the
next regular general election, as provided for in the City
Charter.

RE: Resolution -November , 1999 City Commission Meeting
Mandated election and appointment of City Attorney (J-99-960)
Pursuant to Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, the City
Commission is mandated to appoint the City Attorney at the first meeting following an election at
which the Mayor and/or Commissioners are elected to office.
At the Nonpartisan PrimaryElection held on November 2, 1999, the Commissioners for
Districts 1, 2 and 4 were elected to office. The next scheduled City Commission meeting
following said election is November 16, 1999. Accordingly, I have drafted the attached resolution
which provides for the election and reappointment of the City Attorney to comply with said City
Charter provision and have transmitted same to the Agenda Coordinator for placement on the
November 16, 1999 Agenda.
