J-99-899 10/27/99 RESOLUTION NO. 9 9" 843 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING SERVICE, INC., FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED "WEST END PARK SPORTS LIGHTING PROJECT -SOFTBALL FIELD, B-6292," IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,800.00, TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK BONDS, PROJECT NO. 333107, AS APPROPRIATED IN THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS ORDINANCE NO. 11705, AS AMENDED, IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,800.00 THE CONTRACT COST AND $12,902.91 EXPENSES, TOTAL ESTIMATED COST $96,702.91; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice Invitations for Bids for the Project "West End Park Sports Lighting Project -Softball Field, B-6292," were mailed to 185 potential bidders; and WHEREAS, five (5) sealed bids were received on July 22, 1999; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from Electrical Contracting Service, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, funds are available in the Annual Appropriations CITY COMMSSIOH MEETING OF N n V 1 6 1999 Resolution No. 99- 84 and Capital Improvements Ordinance No. 11705, as amended, under Project No. 333107; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference hereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The July 22, 1999, bid of Electrical Contracting Service, Inc., for the project entitled "West End Park Sports Lighting Project -Softball Field, B-6292," in the proposed amount of $83,800.00, total proposed bid, based on lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted, at the price stated therein. Section 3. The total estimated project cost of $96,702.91 is hereby allocated from Project No. 333107, as from the Safe Neighborhood Park Bonds, Project No. 333107, as appropriated in the Annual Appropriations and Capital Improvements Ordinance No. 11705, as amended. Said total project cost consists of the $83,800.00 contract cost and $12,902.91 estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 4. The new lighting system shall include, but is not limited to, providing and installing six (6) concrete poles, 1500 watt floodlights, ballasts, safety switches, underground circuits, 72"x60"X18" enclosure, meter can and lighting contactors. West End Park is located at 250 SW 60nd Avenue, Miami, Florida.. Bidders shall furnish a bid bond in accordance with Resolutions No. 86-893 and No. 87-915.
