Miami, Fl. 33130
Dear Mr. Wallace:
I'm sure by now, you and nearly all of South Florida have heard about the loss of' Sonny
Hirsch.
Mr. Hirsch, who has been a popular sports personality in this area for nearly six decades,
died at the age of 65. While all of this area lost a very fine role model, we also lost a
legend. He was someone who pioneered sports journalism in this area.
In the years he broadcast university of Miami football, which dated track to the early
1960s, Mr. Hirsch must have called some 300 games in the Orange Bowl Stadium. His
absence during the -University of Miami football season will have a void that will take a
long time to fill.
The reason t am writing you Is to ask that the City of Miami and yoursetf to consider
naming N.W. 14th Street (which I believe is the media entrance to the facility) in the name
o Sonny Hirsch. For all that he has represented in -his very event fitted life, l -would th nk
t
that this would be a lasting tribute to a man who has meant so much to so many.
Thank you very much for taking the time to consider this. t took forward to hearing, tram
you very soon.
Sincerely,
Lawrence Lawrence Blustein
