HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-99-0706J--99-801 9/28/99 1. bT: Qf1T.TTTTnNT Mn 0 `I y if ) �i A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO FOUR EXISTING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO EXTEND THE TERMS OF SAID AGREEMENTS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR EACH AND PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR THE CONTINUED PROVISION OF VICTIM ADVOCATE SERVICES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S VICTIM ADVOCATE PROGRAM; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $45,000, FROM THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT FUND, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 142011, FOR SAID SERVICES, WHEREAS, pursuant to a grant received by the Police Department from the State of Florida, Office of the Attorney General, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 99-64, on i January 26, 1999, which Resolution authorized the City Manager to execute Professional Services Agreements for the operation of the i Victim Advocate Program and the provision of related services; and WHEREAS, additional funding has been granted to the Police Department for the continued operation of the Victim Advocate Program, and the City wishes to extend the terms of the existing i agreements with those individuals providing said professional services and to provide compensation for same; and WHEREAS, funds for said services are available from the CITY CONIInSSION NEETI.TiTC CW S EP 1 8 1999 hcisolution ido. r �; Victims of Crime Act Fund, Account Code No. 142011; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorizedil to execute Amendment No. 1 to four existing professional services agreements, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to extend the terms of said agreements for a period of one year each and provide compensation for the continued provision of victim advocate services for the Police Department's Victim, Advocate Program, with funds therefor, in an amount not to 'exceed $45,000, hereby allocated from the Victims of Crime Act Fund, Account Code No. 142011, for said services. Section 3. Funding will be from the Victims of Crime Act Fund, Project No. 142011. BACKGROUND The Police Department received funding from the State of Florida, Office of the Attorney General, for the continued operation of the Victim Advocate Program. The City may at its option extend said agreement for one year.
