A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $18,000
FROM FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 BUDGETED FUNDS OF
THE OFFICE OF HEARING BOARDS, ACCOUNT CODE
NO. 820101-250, FOR PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION
TO SPECIAL COUNSEL, INCLUDING ANY REQUIRED
RELATED LITIGATION SERVICES, FOR THE CODE
ENFORCEMENT BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $18,000 is hereby
allocated from Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Budgeted Funds of the Office
of Hearing Boards, Account Code No. 820101-250, for payment of
compensation to Special Counsel, including any required related
litigation services, for the Code Enforcement Board.!'
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective

If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

RE: Proposed Resolut' for ptember 14, 1999 City Commission Meeting
Compensation to pec' Counsel to Code Enforcement Board (J-99-674)
The attached proposed Resolution has been prepared for your consideration to provide
compensation, in the amount of $18,000.00, for Special Counsel to the Code Enforcement
Board. Funds are available from Fiscal Year 1999-2000 budgeted funds of the Office of
Hearing Boards, Account No. 820101-250.
Special counsel as legal advisor to the Code Enforcement Board is required because the
City Attorney cannot both represent and prosecute code violation cases before the Code
Enforcement Board.
The compensation is payable as earned during the period of such counsel's employment.
Services provided by Special Counsel shall include any related litigation services required by
the Code Enforcement Board.

Allocation of Funds for Special Counsel to the Code Enforcement Board
(J-99-674)
Attached is a copy of a resolution which is being placed on the City Commission Agenda
for the meeting of September 14, 1999. If approved, payment of compensation, in the amount
of S 18,000.00, for Special Counsel to the Code Enforcement Board will be authorized.
Funds for said compensation are available from Fiscal Year 1999-2000 budgeted funds of
the Office of the Hearing Boards, Account No. 820101-250. The compensation is payable as
earned during the period of such counsel's employment.
Please indicate your review and approval below prior to the request being presented to the
City Commission and return this original memorandum to Rita Lagace, Administrative Assistant.
