ENCLOSURES:
As a result of terminating the MRC Janitorial Contract with Chi -Ada Corporation 26 June
1999, it is necessary to emplace the next lowest acceptable bidder into service on an
emergency basis from 28 June through 30 September 1999. 30 September is not only the
end of the fiscal year for the City but the end of the initial period of the MRC janitorial
contract as approved by the Commission. At that time it will be decided whether or not
to extend the contract or take over the services on an in-house basis. It is understood that
the new vendor must meet the specifications of the contract to preclude same from being
terminated prior to the end of the fiscal period.
The next lowest acceptable bidder, Vista Building Maintenance Service, is prepared to
take over the contract in question and begin 28 June. Moneys are available from the
MRC budget account 504000.421901.6.340 and additional funds are not required.
