WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works requires ready -mix concrete for its ongoing task of repairing and replacing deteriorated and hazardous concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters and planters; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitations for Bids No. 98-99-103 were distributed to eleven potential bidders for ready -mix concrete; and WHEREAS, two bids were received on June 21, 1999; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the Department Public Works recommend that the bid received from Central Concrete Su,permix, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsive and CITY COMIOSSION MEETING OF S F )` 2 1 INS Resolution No. �9 responsible bid; and WHEREAS, funding is available from the Department of Public Works, Account Code No. 001000.310501.6.750; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The bid received on June 21, 1999, from Central Concrete Supermix, Inc., for the procurement of ready -mix concrete, on an as -needed contract basis for one year, for the Department of Public Works, in an amount not to exceed $79,552, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods, is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Department of Public Works, Account Code No. 001000.310501.6.7S0.
