91-I6JECT : Resolution Establishing a Rental Fee
For the Use of the James L. Knight
Center for Two Concerts
REFERENCES.
ENCLOSURES:
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution establishing
a rental fee based on 7% of gross ticket sales for the presentation by Arie Kaduri, Enterprises, Inc.
of two (2) concerts by the group, "MANA", at the James L. Knight Center Auditorium on
September 10 and 11, 1999. The anticipated revenue projection for both concerts is $37,000,
including the ticket surcharge.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities recommends that the Rental Fee
be based on 7% of gross ticket sales in order to secure this event at the James L. Knight Center
Auditorium. This fee will enable the Knight Center to book these events that are expected to sell
out.
In addition to the User Fee, the City will receive all usual fees associated with a concert event at the
Knight Center. The event organizers will pay all the costs of necessary City services and applicable
fees associated with the events.
