SWA 97-16/TR, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE, IS HEREBY APPROVED, AT A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED $4,726.80; WITH FUNDS THEREFOR HEREBY ALLOCATED FROM ACCOUNT CODE NO. 422001.320302.6.850. WHEREAS, the Department of Solid Waste has a need to purchase 1,010 eighteen gallon recycling containers for the residential recycling program; and WHEREAS, the Department of Solid Waste provides the necessary containers for proper disposal and containment of recycling materials for collection; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the Department of Solid Waste Account Code No. 422001.320302.6.850; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Solid Waste recommend that the purchase of recycling containers from Rehrig COMUSSION Mmmmc OF i JUL 13 1999 B@Qolution No. 2 Pacific Company, utilizing existing West Palm Beach County Contract No. SWA 97-16/TR, be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The purchase of 1,010 eighteen gallon recycling containers from Rehrig Pacific Company, utilizing existing West Palm Beach County Contract No. SWA 97-16/TR, for the Department of Solid Waste, is hereby approved, at a total cost not to exceed $4,726.80, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account Code No. 422001.320302.6.850. This bid is in effect through July 2, 2000. Funding is available from Account Code No. 422001.320302.6.850. BACKGROUND: The Department of Solid Waste is in need of purchasing additional (18 gallon) recycling containers. The department has and will continue to provide quality service to the City's residential recycling program through its regular collection efforts and efficient service. Due to population growth and the inclusion of multi -family units within our service core, there is a need for additional containers to ensure a sufficient number of containers for proper containment. Award will be based on the maximum estimated quantity. 41 WARRANTY FOR SPECMED PERIOD The successful Bidder shall fully warranty all containers furriished hereunder against defect in materials and/or workmanship for a period of five�rs from date of delivery and acceptance by the Authority. Should any defect in materials or workmanship, excepting ordinary wear and tear, appear during the above stated warranty period, the successful bidder shall repair or replace same at no cost to the Authority, immediately upon written notice from; the Assistant Director of Purchasing Services or his designee. 42 MEASUREMENTS Customary measurements appearing in these specifications are not intended to preclude bid for commodities with metric measurements. If bids are based on equivalent products, indicate on the bid, cuts, sketches, and descriptive literature and/or complete specifications.
