A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH GOLD
COAST ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS, INC.,
UTILIZING STATE OF FLORIDA NEGOTIATED
AGREEMENT PRICE SCHEDULE (SNAPS) NO. 9731128,
_ FOR THE PROVISION OF SURVEYING SERVICES FOR
WATSON ISLAND: (PROPOSED AND EXISTING LEASE
AREAS), WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT, AND MIAMI
OUTBOARD CLUB (REALIGNMENT OF LEASE AREA
NO. 2), AND COCONUT GROVE CONVENTION CENTER,
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $62,000, ON AN
AS -NEEDED BASIS UNTIL AUGUST 2, 1999, SUBJECT

WHEREAS, in preparation for the development of certain
City -owned real property it is necessary for the City to enter
into an agreement for professional surveying services for the
properties described as Watson Island: (Proposed And Existing
Lease Areas), Waterfront Development, and Miami Outboard Club
(Realignment Of Lease Area No. 2), and Coconut Grove Convention
Center; and
WHEREAS, in order to expedite the process of obtaining said
professional surveying services, the City wishes to engage Gold
Coast Engineering Consultants, Inc. ("Gold Coast") utilizing

WHEREAS, the cost to perform said survey services is
estimated at an amount not exceed $62,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized!' to
execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney,
with Gold Coast Engineering Services, Inc., utilizing existing
State of Florida Negotiated Agreement Price Schedule (SNAPS)
No. 9731128, for the procurement of surveying services for Watson
Island: (Proposed And Existing Lease Areas), and Waterfront
Development, and Miami Outboard Club (Realignment Of Lease Area
No. 2 ) and Coconut Grove Convention Center, in an amount not to
exceed $62,000, on an as -needed basis until August 2, 1999,
subject to the annual renewal of the Florida Negotiated Agreement
Price Schedule (SNAPS) No. 9731128, with funds therefor hereby

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Gold Coast
Engineering Consultants, Inc., under the State of Florida Negotiated Agreement Price
Schedule (SNAPS) No. 9731128 for the procurement of surveying services for the
properties more particularly described below. These services will be obtained on an as
needed basis in an amount not to exceed $62,000, with funds available in the amount of
$50,000 to be allocated from the fund balance, $6,000 to be allocated from Account Code
No. 810101-240 and $6,000 to be allocated from Account Code No. 810101-2 70 for said
purpose.
BACKGROUND:
In preparation for the development of certain City -owned real property, it is necessary for
the City to enter into an agreement for professional surveying services for the following
properties:
A) Watson Island
1) Proposed & Existing Lease Areas
2) Waterfront Development
3) Miami Outboard Club (realignment of Lease Area 2)
B) Coconut Grove Convention Center
The State of Florida entered into a State of Florida Negotiated Price Schedule (SNAPS) No.
9731128 on July 21, 1998 with Gold Coast Engineering Consultants, Inc. ("Gold Coast") for
consulting services, land surveying and environmental audits, a copy of which is attached
for your convenience. In order to expedite the process of obtaining professional surveying
services the City requested a proposal under the SNAPS Agreement, Gold Coast estimated
the cost to perform these survey services would not exceed $62,000.
