J J - 3 0 68 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENTS, APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING BLUEPRINT SERVICES FROM MICROSOFT CORPORATION, UTILIZING STATE OF FLORIDA NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT PRICE SCHEDULE (SNAPS) NO. 9731298, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.460101.6.340. WHEREAS, the Department of Information Technology seeks to implement several projects spanning numerous technology areas utilizing Microsoft products; and WHEREAS, these products include migration from a multi -master Window NT domain model to a single master domain model environmfnt, migration of the City's e-mail system (Microsoft Mail version 3.5 to Microsoft Exchange 5.5), migration to Microsoft Internet Information Server, installation of Microsoft systems Management Server and the installation of Microsoft SQL 7.0 server for the citywide Work Order System; and WHEREAS, to implement said projects, the department desires to obtain installation,' configuration, design, engineering, and knowledge transfer services and support through Microsoft A T T A CCi It- IW Mff COMUMCM vnmc OF AFIR 2 7 1999 Asswution Iso. 39-30G8 7. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acquisition of Technology Consulting Blueprint Services from Microsoft Corporation, for the Department of Information Technology, awarded under State of Florida Negotiated Agreement Price Schedule (SNAPS) No. 9731298, at an amount not to exceed $50,000, is hereby approved, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account Code No. 001000.460101.6.340. Section 3. Based on our discussions, we understand that Customer requires assistance with Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 9x, and Windows NT Workstation. This technical assistance is defined in more detail as follows: Customer has the requirement to perform several Enterprise migrations detailed below, spanning several lines of business and technology areas. Customer personnel have a need for initial design and engineering services on their existing network environment. Customer has a need for ongoing support, and transitional knowledge transfer for the successful operation of the network infrastructure. Customer has existing project requirements to migrate their multi -master Windows NT domain model to a single master domain model environment; migrate from their current e-mail system (Microsoft Mail version 3.5) to Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5; migrate to Microsoft Internet Information Server; installation of Microsoft Systems Management Server; and the installation of a SQL 7.0 server for a line of business application. MCS will assist Customer as directed with the above tasks, including design, implementation and knowledge transfer. MCS will assist in development, sustainment and management of the existing and migrated network environments. These include but are not limited to: Enterprise Technology Assessments; Enterprise Architecture Planning; Network Planning and Design; TCO Assessment and Analysis; Pilot System Planning and Facilitation; Risk Assessment; Technology Lifecycle Planning; Disaster Recovery Planning; Training Programs; Plan and Develop Help -desk Support; Project Management/Quality Assurance; Organizational Development; and functioning as the Client Liaison and Advocate between Microsoft and Customer. Our services are provided on a time and materials basis and are based upon the rate(s) of the individual(s) assigned and the actual amount of hours worked by those individuals. Our fees for this engagement for an MCS Senior Consultant are $179.00 per hour (per SNAPS Agreement #9731298). This represents a 15% discount off our standard fees of $210.00 per hour. The total estimated fee for this project is $49,941.00, based on an estimated two hundred seventy nine (279) hours of service during a two day per week cycle within a six-month time period. Actual scheduling can and will vary. Customer agrees to pay MCS for the actual time worked by MCS consultants.
