Warshaw City Manager DATE: APR i 9 i999 FILE: SUBJECT: Resolution Allocating $500,000 in HOPWA Funds to Miami Beach Community Development Corporation REFERENCES: City Commission Agenda Item ENCLOSURES: Meeting of April 13, 1999 RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution, authorizing the City Manager to allocate $500,000 in FY 1998-99 Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program funds to the Miami Beach Community Development Corporation, project sponsor for the acquisition and rehabilitation of an eighteen (18) unit housing project. Approximately $7,732,000 in funding was awarded to the City of Miami from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in connection with the implementation of the City's 1998-99 HOPWA Program. Approximately $500,000 has been allocated to the proposed Fernwood Apartments Project. Funding for the Project is available from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from the FY 1998-99 Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program Grant (Account No. 194006.590606.6860.94654).
