A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION RENAMING
ALLAPATTAH COMSTOCK PARK LOCATED AT 2800 NW
17 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO JUAN PABL'O
DUARTE PARK.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby renames Allapattah
Comstock Park, located at 2800 NW 17th Avenue, Miami, Florida, to
Juan Pablo Duarte Park.

Recommendation:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt this attached
Resolution authorizing the renaming of the Allapattah Comstock Park, located
at 2800 N. W. 17`h Avenue, to Juan Pablo Duarte Park and instructing the
City Manager to initiate its process for designating said park under the new
name in honor of Mr. Duarte.
Background:
The Department of Parks and Recreation has analyzed the need to request
the adoption of the attached Resolution on behalf of the City of Miami and
its residents to express its deepest gratitude by honoring Juan Pablo Duarte.
Accordingly, the City is requesting the authority to rename the Allapattah
Comstock Park to Juan Pablo Duarte Park and instruct the City Manager to
initiate the procedure for designating the park under its new name.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
PLEASE ALL TAKE NOTICE THAT a public hearing will be held by the Commission
of the City of Miami, Florida, on February 9, 1999, at 2:00 p.m, in the City Commission
Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, for the purposes of
hearing objections from any interested parties affected by the renaming of Allapattah
Comstock Park to Juan Pablo Duarte Park.
All interested persons are invited to appear and may be heard concerning the renaming of
Allapattah Comstock Park. Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City
Commission with respect to any matter considered at this hearing, that person shall
ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including all testimony and
evidence upon which any appeal may be based.
