BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Foeman City Clerk ram, CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM a_ I DATE: January 22, 1999 FILE : SUBJECT: Affirmative Action Advisory Board REFERENCES: February 9, 1999 Agenda ENCLOSURES: List of Members, Resolution The Affirmative Action Advisory Board was created to review and recommend to the City Commission the adoption of amendments/revisions to the City's affirmative action plan. The board also reviews employment policies and practices of the City and makes recommendations to the Personnel Department. Ten appointments are needed at this time: • Chairman Plummer has two nominations for seats currently vacant due to the resignation of Vicky Garcia -Toledo and excessive absences of Robert Grill. • Commissioner Sanchez has two nominations for one vacant seat because Ivan Barrett, who had been nominated by former Commissioner Hernandez, was excessively absent; and one seat currently held by Sam Mason, whose terry, expires on February 8, 1999. • Commissioner Regalado has t« o nominations for seats currently held by Ricardo Core and Alan Morley, whose terms expire on February 8, 1999. • Vice Chairman Gort has t,vo nominations for seats currently held by Ramiro Marrero and Nora Hernandez Hendrix, whose terms expire on February 8, 1999. • Commissioner Teele has two nominations for one seat currently held by Dr. Laurinus Pierre, whose term expires on February 8, 1999 and one vacant seat because Charles Flowers was excessively absent. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the February 9, 1999 Commission agenda.
