RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCEREST
CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF MIAP,I AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE
FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF ORLANDO ACOSTA, UPON
HIS UNTIMELY DEATH.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has been informed that Orlando
Acosta, a prominent Miami businessman, passed away on January 23,
1999; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Acosta came to the City of Miami from Cuba in
1960 to seek political asylum and within only three years after
his arrival he opened a business which he operated for 32 years;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Acosta was active in many organizations,
including the Big 5 Club and the Bay of Pigs Veterans
Association; and
WHEREAS,
it
is the desire
of the City
Commission, on

citizens, to
express its

sympathy to the family and friends of Orlando Acosta;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY`
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of
Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and
friends of Orlando Acosta, its deepest sympathy and sincerest
condolences upon his untimely death.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of January , 1999.

our sincerest condolences on the untimely passing of your husband Orlando Acosta.
