A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH
CONDITIONS, RELATING TO TEMPORARY SPECIAL
EVENTS, AUTHORIZING FOR A PERIOD OF TWO TIMES,
NOT TO EXCEED TWO (2) CONSECUTIVE WEEKS - FROM
JANUARY 2 THROUGH FEBRUARY 10, 1999, THE
OPERATION OF TEMPORARY PARKING AND THE
PLACEMENT OF A SECURITY TRAILER AS TEMPORARY
SPECIAL EVENTS BY MIAMI ONE CENTRE LIMITED
PARTNERSHIP ON A VACANT PARCEL OF PROPERTY
BOUNDED BY THE INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL ON THE
NORTH, THE MIAMI RIVER ON THE SOUTH, BISCAYNE
BAY ON THE EAST AND BISCAYNE BOULEVARD ON THE
WEST, IN CONNECTION WITH THE UPCOMING NATIONAL
FOOTBALL LEAGUE ("NFL") SUPER BOWL AND
AFFILIATED EVENTS.
WHEREAS, Miami One Centre Limited Partnership ("Miami One")
is approaching the maximum number_ of temporary special events
allowed, without further authorization, for the property located
in downtown Miami bounded by the Intercontinental Hotel on the
north, the Miami River on the south, Biscayne Bay on the east and

Biscayne Boulevard on the west, a vacant parcel of land (the
"Site"); and;
WHEREAS, the City Commission is authorized to increase the
number of temporary special events allowed, per site, per year;

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens in the �•
area that the requested special event parking and placement of a;
security trailer in connection with the upcoming National

Football League ("NFL") Super Bowl and affiliated activities be
authorized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Miami One Centre Limited Partnership ("Miami
One"), is hereby authorized to operate special event parking and
to place a security trailer as a Temporary Special Event site, on
the property located in downtown Miami bounded by the
Intercontinental Hotel on the north, the Miami River on the
south, Biscayne Bay on the east and Biscayne Boulevard on the
west, a vacant parcel of land (the "site"), in connection with
the upcoming National Football League ("NFL") Super Bowl and
affiliated activities.
Section 3. The herein approval represents an increase in
the number of temporary special events authorized for the subject
site.
Section 4. The herein authorization is limited to two

times not to exceed (2) consecutive weeks - from January 2
through February 10, 1999.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.1/

the end of ten calendar days from the date itwaspassed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the city Commission.

on behalf of my client, Miami One Centre Limited Partnership, a Florida limited
partnership (I`Miami One"), we are requesting to be placed as a personal appearance on. the
January 12, 1999 City Commission agenda.
Miami One owns the property located in downtown N anli which is a vacant parcel
bounded by the Intercontinental on the north, the Miami River on the South, Biscayne Bay on the
east and Biscayne Boulevard on the west. A site plan of the Property is attached, Ridgeway
International Hotel has requested permission from Mani One to use said Property for parking of
reserved dignitaries cars for the Super Bowl and other NFL affiliated events.
Section 906.9(c) of the Zoning Ordinance requires City Commission approval if the
temporary event exceeds four (4) weeks. The proposed parking will be needed for a total of five
(5) weeks and four (4) days, thus requiring City Commission approval, Miami One is in the
process of seeking approval of a Class I permit to allow the parking and security trailer for two
(2), two (2) week periods (totaling 28 days),
The NFL parking will be utilized from January 2, 1999 through February 10, 1999. Please
confirm that this item will be scheduled for the January 12, 1999 City Commission agenda,

The Zoning Section of the Building and Zoning Department has reviewed the request
for a two -week extension of the time allotted for the Class I Special Permit for the
property adjacent to the Intercontinental Hotel. This permit will be used to allow
reserved parking to enable the accommodating of dignitaries' vehicles during the Super
Bowl and other NFL affiliated events. The permit will also allow the presence of a
security trailer on said site. This permit will run through February 10,1999.
The Building and Zoning Department recommends approval of this extension since no
adverse effects will result from this proposed special event. -
