HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-99-0016r ?q��-r • . • Ntis t!2 i 1 J-99-32 12/28/98 � RESOLUTION NO.^ - A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING A DONATION OF FOOD VALUED AT APPROXIMATELY $1,700.00, FROM MCDONALD'S CORPORATION, SERVED TO ATTENDEES AT THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S ANNUAL "SNOW IN TIIE SUNSHINE" EVENT HELD AT THE SOUTH PARKING LOT OF THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM, DECEMBER 19, 1998. WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 19, 1998, the Department of Parks and Recreation presented the annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event at the Orange Bowl's South Parking Lot; and WHEREAS, more than 1,000 children from the community attended this event which featured food, rides, music, and twenty-five tons of snow; and WHEREAS, the donation of food, valued at approximately $1,700.00, from McDonald's Corporation, assisted the Parks and Recreation Department in defraying the cost of this event; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this CITY CODMSSION Y�£�TgN1O OF Revolution No. 9_ M, p_, f Section. Section 2. The donation of food, valued at approximately $1,700.00, from McDonald's Corporation, served to attendees at the Parks and Recreation Department's annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event held at the south end parking lot of the Orange Bowl Stadium, December 19, 1998, is hereby accepted. BACKGROUND: On December 19, 1998 the Department of Parks and Recreation presented the annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event at the Orange Bowl's South Parking Lot. More than 1,000 children from our community attended this event which featured food, rides, music, a special visit from Santa Claus, and twenty-five (25) tons of snow. McDonald's Corporation donated 1,000 cheeseburgers and 1,000 cookies valued at approximately $1700.00 which defrayed the costs for this event.
