EMMANUEL NWADIKE OF PAWA COMPLEX INTERNATIONAL, INC., FOR DISTRIBUTION TO CHILDREN ATTENDING THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S ANNUAL "SNOW IN THE SUNSHINE" EVENT HELD AT THE SOUTH PARKING LOT OF THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM, DECEMBER 19, 1998. WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 19, 1998, the Department of Parks and Recreation presented the annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event at the Orange Bowl's South Parking Lot; and WHEREAS, more than 1,000 children from the community attended this event which featured food, rides, music, and twenty-five (25) tons of snow; and WHEREAS, the donation by Dr. Emmanuel Nwadike of PAWA Complex International, Inc., of approximately 1,178 toys estimated to be valued at $2,110.00, were distributed to children in attendance which assisted the Parks and Recreation Department in defraying the cost of this event; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Emmanuel Nwadike of PAWA Complex International, Inc., for distribution to children attending the Parks and Recreation Department's annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event held at the south end parking lot of the Orange Bowl Stadium, is hereby accepted. Section 3. Warshaw REFERENCES: Commission Mtg. 1/12 /99 City Manager ENCLOSURES: Resolution RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution formally accepting a donation of approximately 1.178 toys with an estimated value of $2110.00 from Dr. Emmanuel Nwadike of PAWA Complex International, Inc. to be used to defray the cost for staging the Department of Parks and Recreation's annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event. BACKGROUND: On December 19, 1998 the Department of Parks and Recreation presented the annual "Snow in the Sunshine" event at the Orange Bowl's South Parking Lot. More than 1,000 children from our community attended this event which featured food, rides, music, a special visit from Santa Claus, and twent)-five (25) tons of snow. Dr. Emmanuel Nwasike of PAWA Complex International, Inc. donated approximately 1,178 toys with an estimate value of $2110.00 which defrayed the costs for this event.
