HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-99-0010RESOLUTION NO. {i.�-10 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FUNDING OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING TRUST FUND , IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR. FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROJECT NOS. G90001, 690002, AND 690003, SUCH EXPENDITURES HAVING BEEN CERTIFIED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS COMPLYING WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY'S "GUIDE TO EQUITABLE SHARING" AND FLORIDA STATUTE, SECTION 932.7055, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and Florida Statute, Section 932.7055, as amended, authorize the expenditure of forfeited cash or proceeds for certain law enforcement purposes; and WHEREAS, the following expenditures fall under the purview of the above Statute and have not been included in the Department of Police's normal operating budget; and WHEREAS, funds from the Law Enforcement Training Trust Fund ("Fund") will be used to train personnel in the use of computers and other equipment relating to law enforcement duties, ethics and professional conduct, management and supervisory skills; and WHEREAS, supplies and ancillary expenditures related to the cited training such as the purchase of books, supplies, travel, transportation, and rental of training facilities will also be cm CO SSION MEETING OF JAN 3 Resolution No. .. JL 0 a> e v t { , kk a,}.g�'w3SG`t.rw`x'W.r+rr. �r'tAr' 71. underwritten by the Fund; and WHEREAS, funds to cover said expenditure are available from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project Nos. 690001, 690002, and 690003, such expenditure having been certified by the Chief_ of Police as complying with the U.S. Department of the Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and Florida Statute, Section 932.7055, as amended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Funding of the Law Enforcement Training Trust Fund, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, is hereby authorized, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project Nos. 690001, 690002, and 690003, such expenditure having been certified by the Chief of Police as complying with the U.S. Department of the 'Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and Florida Statute, Section 932.7055, as amended. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayoral. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of January 1998.
