HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-99-00041 1 s i ';t J-99-19 12/28i98 RESOLUTION No. °1 * _ A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF AERO COOLING SYSTEMS, INC., IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $267,020.00, FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED "COCONUT GROVE CONVENTION CENTER AIR CONDITIONING REPLACEMENT PROJECT, B-6309"; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM PROJECT NO. 325006, AS APPROPRIATED BY THE FISCAL YEAR 198-99 APPROPRIATIONS/CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 11705, AS AMENDED, IN THE AMOUNT OF $267,020.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST AND $16,979.11 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED EXPENSES, FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL COST OF $283,999.11; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH SAID FIRM FOR THE CITED PROJECT. WHEREAS, the air conditioning system at the Coconut Grove Convention Center no longer effectively cools the building and requires replacement; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, invitations to bid to replace the air conditioning system at the Coconut Grove Convention Center were distributed to 137 contractors; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from Aero Cooling Systems, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1998-1999 Appropriations/Capital CITY CO1ul USSYON MEETLNG OF JAM 9 2 V99 R000lution No. a a Improvements Ordinance, No. 11705, as amended, appropriated monies for the proposed amount of the contract, project expenses, and incidentals under Project No.325006; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The November 19, 1998, bid of Aero Cooling Systems, Inc., in the proposed amount of $267,020.00, for the project entitled "Coconut Grove Convention Center Air Conditioning Replacement, Project No. B-630911, based upon lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 3. The total estimated project cost of $283,999.11 is hereby allocated from Project No. 325006, as appropriated by the Fiscal Year 1998-1999 Appropriations/Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 11705, as amended. Said total project cost consists of the $267,020.00 contract cost and $16,979.11 estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 4.
