ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AMENDING SECTIONS 35-191,35-192 AND 35-193 OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, BY CHANGING RATES AT CERTAIN ON -STREET
LOTS; CHANGING THE RATES AT MUNICIPAL PARKING
GARAGES; PROVIDING FOR SAID RATE CHANGES TO
BECOME EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2000, RATIFYING
AND CONFIRMING, ALL ACTS OF THE OFF-STREET
PARKING BOARD TO DEVELOP EXPERIMENTAL RATES
STRUCTURES AND TO INITIATE RATES FOR NEW,
FACILITIES DURING THE FISCAL YEAR; CONTAINING
REPEATER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the Off -Street Parking Board of the City of Miami,
on October 27, 1999, instructed the Director of the Department of
Off -Street Parking to submit an Ordinance to the City Commission
to reflect changes in certain on -street parking meters, to become
effective February 1, 2000; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference

thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Section 35-191, 35-192 and 35-193 of the Code
of the City of Miami, as amended, are hereby amended in the
following particulars:l/
ARTICLE IV. PARKING RATES
Sec. 35-191 On -Street parking meters
The rate of charge for parking in metered spaces in on -street
parking meter zones, except as otherwise provided herein, is as
follows:
Central Business District: Per Hour
All streets and avenues in the area bounded
by I-95, N.W. and N.E. Fifth Street,
Biscayne Boulevard, Biscayne Boulevard Way, $1.25
and the downtown distributor of I-95
All streets and avenues in the area bounded

Section 3. All ordinance or parts of ordinances insofar
as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. It is intention of the City Commission that
the provision of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part
of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, which
provisions may be renumbered or relettered and that the word
"ordinance" may be changed to "section", "article", or other
appropriate word to accomplish such intention.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty

by the Mayor within ten days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the
effective date stated herein, whichever is later.

RE: Scrivener's Error -Ordinance No. 11871
Ordinance No. 11871 passed on second reading December 14, 1999 contains a scrivener's
error as it incorrectly reflects amending Sections 35-91, 35-92 and 35-93, and should correctly
read as Sections 35-191, 35-192 and 35-193 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida as
amended, changing the rates at municipal parking garages.
The herein attachment, which is a substitute original Ordinance to replace the document
you presently possess as Ordinance No. 11871, has been revised to reflect the. proper sections of
the Code.
After the correct document has been executed, please forward a copy to this Office. This
memorandum may be attached to Ordinance No. 11871 so that any concern regarding the
substitution of said Ordinance is clarified.
