AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AMENDING, ORDINANCE NO. 10840, ADOPTED ON
FEBRUARY 14, 1991, AS AMENDED, WHICH
ESTABLISHED INITIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE
COCONUT GROVE; SPECIAL EVENTS DISTRICT FUND,
THEREBY INCREASING SAID APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $75,731 AS A RESULT OF ADDITIONAL
MONIES DEPOSITED IN SAID FUND DUE TO
SUCCESSFUL COLLECTION OF THE COCONUT GROVE
SPECIAL EVENTS DISTRICT SUPPLEMENTARY USER
FEE; PROVIDING FOR FURTHER APPROPRIATIONS AND
CONTAINING A • REPEALER PROVISION AND
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 10840, adopted on February 14, 1991,
established the initial resources and appropriation for the
"Coconut Grove Special Events District Fund"; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11004, adopted on October 8, 1992,
Ordinance No. 11174, adopted on September 8, 1994, and Ordinance
No. 11334, adopted January 25, 1995, amended Ordinance No. 10840,
by increasing appropriations to $70,000, $140,000 and $190,000
respectively; and
WHEREAS, as a result of additional successful collection of
the Coconut Grove Special Events District Supplementary User Fee,
an additional $75,731 is available to be deposited in the

"Coconut Grove Special Events District Fund"; and
WHEREAS, none of the aforementioned funds have been or will
be spent without prior City Commission approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 10840, as amended,
adopted February 14, 1991, is hereby amended in the following
particulars / ':

appropriated as described herein:

Meeting of April 13, 1999
It is respectfully recommended that the City Conunission adopt the attached ordinance increasing the
appropriation for the "Coconut Grove Special Events District Fund" by $75,731, as a result of
additional monies deposited into said fund through the Coconut Grove Special Events District
Supplementary User Fee.
Ordinance No. 10840, adopted on February 14, 1991, established resources and appropriations for the
"Coconut Grove Special Events District Fund" in the amount of $28,000. Ordinance No. 11004,
adopted October 8, 1992, Ordinance No. 11174, adopted September 8, 1994, and Ordinance No.
11334, adopted January 25, 1996, amended Ordinance No. 10840, by increasing appropriations to
$70,000, $140,000 and $190,000, respectively. A successful collection of the Coconut Grove Special
Events District Supplementary User Fee has resulted in an additional $75,731 being available for
deposit in the "Coconut Grove Special Events District Fund ".
The request for the appropriation of these monies is required for the funding of the maintenance,
improvement and beautification of Peacock Park and the Coconut Grove Special Events District, as
established by Ordinance No. 10764, adopted July 12, 1990.
All expenditures have been, or will be, brought before the City Commission for approval, upon the
recommendation of the Coconut Grove Standing Festival Committee, as required by City of Miami
Code Section 51 -342.

twenty -five (25%) percent of the cost of City eervicea for eventa
held within the said District; and
WHEREAS, it is antioipated that an estimated amount of
twenty eight thousand ($25,000) dollars in revenues will be
received during Fiecal Year' 1990 -91 as a result Of the
implementation of said Supplementary Ueer Fee; and
WHEREAS, all revenues derived from paid supplementary user
fee °ball be utilized for the maintenance, improvement and
beautification - of Peacock Park and the Coconut Grove Special
events District; and
WHEREAS, the Coconut Grove Standing Festival Committee shall
