Sequeims: This is in response to the juesaions and contents you have regarding the exhaust pipes at 2351 Douglas Road. L Was there nothing in the Building and Zoning regulations to prevent exhaust pipes fit s being installed so clove to a residence? There aren't any regulations to prevent this, 2. One pipe is going up and sending fumes to ipam Why does the smaUer pipe have 2 elbows which db*ecb exhaust and noise in the direction of the house which is 40 feet away? Alter all, they were impacting the neighborhoods. On April 23', 1998, our department wrote a letter to Mr. Leo Bloom explainiM that generators are not governed under the South Florida Building Code. This was also verified in a letter from Miami -Dade County Code Compliance Office. The City has a Noise Ordinance #10754 which governs noise abatement, but not �geoer�ors. Fumes are regulated under the Depa=cnt of Eavirontaeatai Resountes Management (DERNO at Miami -Dade County, they can be contacted at (305)375-DERM- 4. Did anyone ever come out and check the noise level? Terrace. There was a shortage of electricity in my neighborhood last week for about four hours and the generator on the building at 2351 Douglas Road was making a deafening noise and fumes that made me nauseous to the point that I had to leave my house until the lights came back and they had their generator shut off. I am very supportive of Mr. Leo Bloom's efforts to have this problem corrected.
