We would like to speak about, 1. How to stop the drug dealers who have taken over our neighborhood , and made if.un-safe for our children. 2. Illegal dumping on our streets. 3. The un-safe abandon buildings , that homeless people are living in and drug dealers are selling drags on the property. Violent crimes against children are taking place. Sincerely, UC ELVT ALONG§ AURTHOR TEELE JOE CAROLLO NEIGHBORS WORKING TOGETHER TO CLEAN UP OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. FINDING A SOLUTION TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD PROBLEMS. 1. ILLEGAL DUMPING (WHAT CAN WE DO) 7.2 MILLION SPENT LAST YEAR BY THE CITY. 3.5 MILLION WERE SPENT BECAUSE OF ILLEGAL DUMPING BY PEOPLE FROM OUT SIDE OF OUR COMMUNITY. Mit HOBSEN ("305) 575-5105 POSSIBLE SOL G'1 ION: 1. .FINE THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY IF DUMPING PRESIST. 2. CHANGE TO DADE COUNTY DUMPING RULES. 3. HIRE MORE THAN TWO POLICE OFFICERS FOR THE DUMPING TASK FORCE. 4. WE NEED SUR PIELLANCE CAMERAS. IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS. 5. SIGNS ARE NEEDED BY THE AMIOR DUMPING CITES, AND THE CITY. . SHOULD SUPPLY THE SIGNS AT "NO' EXTRA COST TO THE COAIMUNITY. 6. PERMANENT CLEAN UPS BY THE .TAIL IN MATES FUNDED BY THE CITY. 7. FINE THE APARTMENT BUILDING OWNERS /HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE TENANTS 2. CRIME IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD DRUG DEALERS" IN CONTROL. POSSIBLE SOL tTTION.• 1. CRIME WATCH BYNEIGHBORHOODS. I MONEY SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO HELP THE PEOPLE GET THEM STARTED. S. SIGNS SHOULD BE PROT,7DE BY THE CITY. 3. THE ABANDON BUILDINGS AND LOTS POSSIBLE SOLUTION: 1. FINDING A FASTER WAY TO GET ABANDON .BUILDINGS DEMOLISHED. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW PASSED IF AN ABANDON BUILDING BECOMES A HAVEN FOR CRIME THAT IS CONTINOUSLY BEING GIVEN ATTENTION BY THE POLICE, THE CITY SHO ULD HA VE THE L EGAL RIGHT TO CITE. THE B ULIDING AS A HAZARD TO THE WELL BEING OF THE PEOPLE 17V THE COMW LAITY. THIS WOULD GIVE THE STATE THE RIGHT TO CONFISCATE AND DEMOLISH. 2. MORE POLICE PRESENCE IN .THESE AREAS, 3.HOMLESS PEOPLE ARE LIVING IN THESE BUILDINGS. THIS .IS A HEALTH HAZARD. WHY CAN'T THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT GET INVOLVED? The state allocated money to beautify the City of Miami and build a park for the children. Where is the money? 1. WHY IS THE CITY BEING OVER LOOKED? WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CODE ENFORCEMENT OF ILLEGAL UNITS? WHY IS THE JOB NOT BEING DONE? UNIMPROVED SUFACEI CAR BEING PARKED ON THE GRASS HOLIES ARE MADE INTO ROOMING HOUSES. BRING DONE THE PROPERTY VALUE. A HOUSE DIVIED CANNOT STAND, THE CITY, THE COUNTY, AND THE STATE NEED TO ALL GET ON THE SAME PAGE, OR THE CITY OF MIAMI IS DOOMED! b ' 5.
