WHEREAS, the Department of Police requires the acquisition and installation of air conditioning condensing units for the David Herring Training Center; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-216 was mailed to fifty-six (56) potential bidders; and WHEREAS, three (3) responsive bids were received on August 30, 2000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend that the bid received from Goldcoast Refrigeration be accepted as t_ the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and CITY COMMISSION DEC i It 2000 fiesoiution No. �. WHEREAS, funds are available from Capital Improvement Project Account Code No. 312018.299401.6.840; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The August 30, 2000 bid received from Goldcoast Refrigeration for the acquisition and installation of air conditioning condensing units for the Department of Police, in an amount not to exceed $18,275., is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Capital Improvement Project Account Code No. 312018.299401.6.840. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'/ 1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at' the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of Goldcoast Refrigeration, a Hispanic/Dade County vendor, located at 8261 S.W. 28 Street, Miami, FL 33195, to furnish and install Air Conditioning Condensing Units, for the Police Department, in an amount not to exceed $18,275.00. Funding is available from the Capital Improvement Project, Account Code No. 312018.299401.6.840. BACKGROUND The Department of Police has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 99-00-216. Fifty-six (56) Invitations for Bids were mailed and three (3) responses were received. Goldcoast Refrigeration submitted the lowest most responsible and responsive bid and is, therefore, recommended for the award. The condensing'units at the Police Department's David Herring Training Center are broken beyond repair and require replacement.
