A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO STUDY THE
FEASIBILITY AND IF APPROPRIATE IDENTIFY
FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $95,000,
FOR LAND ACQUISITION IN CONNECTION WITH THE
CENTENNIAL TOWER HOUSING DEVELOPMENT TO BE
DEVELOPED BY JUBILEE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE URBAN
LEAGUE, IN THE OVERTOWN COMMUNITY AT
NORTHWEST 13TH STREET AND 8TH COURT, MIAMI,
FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE SUBSIDIZED HOUSING FOR
THE VERY LOW INCOME ELDERLY AND TO REPORT HIS
FINDINGS TO THE CITY COMMISSION AT THE
DECEMBER 14, 2000 CITY COMMISSION MEETING.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Miami to
facilitate housing for the elderly;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby directed to study
the feasibility and if appropriate identify funds, in an amount
not to exceed $95,000, for land acquisition in connection with
the Centennial Tower housing development to be developed by
Jubilee Community Development Corporation in partnership with The
Urban League, in the Overtown Community at Northwest 13th Street

and 8th Court, Miami, Florida, to provide subsidized housing for
the very low income elderly and the City Manager is further
directed to report his findings to the City Commission at the
December 14, 2000 City Commission meeting.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11

1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
