A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING THE CONTINUED ENGAGEMENT OF THE
LAW FIRM OF AKERMAN, SENTERFITT & EIDSON,
P.A. FOR REPRESENTATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000, IN THE MATTER OF
DONALD H . WAR SHAW V . THE CITY OF MIAMI, A
MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, IN THE ELEVENTH
JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IN AND FOR MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, CASE NO. 00-11244 CA 04;
ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $30.,000, PLUS COSTS AS APPROVED BY
THE CITY ATTORNEY, FROM THE SELF-INSURANCE
AND INSURANCE TRUST FUND, ACCOUNT CODE
NO. 515001.624401.6.661, FOR SAID SERVICES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Attorney's continued engagement of
the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A. for
representation of the City of Miami, in the amount of $30,000 in
the matter of Donald H. Warshaw v. the City of Miami, a municipal
corporation, in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami -
Dade County, Florida, Case No. 00-11244 CA-04, is hereby
authorized, with funds therefor, in an amount not to exceed
$30,000, plus costs as approved by the City Attorney, hereby

allocated from the Self -Insurance and Insurance Trust Fund,
Account Code No. 515001.624401.6.661, for said services.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective

If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective

The attached Resolution authorizes the continued engagement of Akerman, Senterfitt &
Eidson, P.A., in the amount of $30,000, for representation of the City of Miami, in the case
Donald H. Warshaw v. the City of Miami, a municipal corporation, in the Eleventh Judicial
Circuit in and for Miami -Dade County, Florida, Case No. 00-112445 CA-04, in connection with
counseling, providing legal advice, formulating legal strategy and acting as counsel with respect to
the litigation for the case. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $20,000, plus costs
as approved by the City Attorney, was authorize_ d for this case by the City Commission pursuant
to Resolution No. 00-545 on June 29, 2000.
Funds in an amount not to exceed $30,000, plus costs as approved by the City Attorney,
will be allocated from the Self -Insurance and Insurance Trust Fund, Account Code No.
515001.624401.6.661, for said services.

The attached proposed Resolution seeks authorization for the continued engagement of
the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A., for representation of the City of Miami, in
the amount of $30,000, in the matter of Donald H. Warshaw v. Joe Carollo, Individually, Joe
Carollo in his capacity as Mayor and the City of Miami, and the City of Miami, in the Eleventh
Judicial Circuit in and for Miami -Dade County, Florida, Circuit Court Case
No. 00-11244 CA 05, plus costs as approved by the City Attorney. Funds for the services will be
allocated from the Self -Insurance and Insurance Trust Fund, Account Code
No. 515001.624401.6.661.
