WHEREAS, the Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities requires custodial services on a daily basis for customers, guests and tenants of the Marine Stadium Marina; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-26OR was mailed to fifty-four (54) potential bidders; and WHEREAS, three (3) responsive bids were received on September 6, 2000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Conferences, Conventions, and Public Facilities recommend that the bid received from Hope Center, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF. jqi v 1 6 2000 6u- WHEREAS, funds are available from the Marine Stadium Marina Operating Budget, Account Code No. 402003:35°0508.340, for the required services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The September 6, 2000 bid received from Hope Center, Inc., for the provision of custodial services at the Marine Stadium Marina for the Department of Conferences, Conventions, and Public Facilities on a contract basis for one (1) year' with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, in an annual amount not to exceed $8,940, is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Marine Stadium Marina Operating Budget, Account Code No. 402003.350508.340. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.1 1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution:, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. The contract has a term of one year, with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods. Funding is available from the operating budget of Marine Stadium Marina, Account Code No. 402003.350508.340. BACKGROUND Custodial services are required at Marine Stadium Marina on a daily basis to provide restroom and office cleaning services. These services are necessary to maintain the facilities in a sanitary and professional manner for Marina customers and guests, and commercial tenant customers. The Purchasing Department has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 99-00-260R. Fifty- four bids were distributed, and three responses were received. Of the three (3) companies submitting a bid, Dope Center, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid, and it is recommended that the bid be awarded to them.
