A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
ACCEPTING THE BID OF A. NAVAS PARTY PRODUCTIONS,
INC. FOR THE RENTAL AND SETUP OF TENTS, TABLES
AND CHAIRS FOR THE BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT
TRUST ("TRUST") ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACT BASIS
FOR ONE (1) YEAR, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR
TWO ( 2 ) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS, IN AN
ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $80,000; ALLOCATING
FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET.
OF THE TRUST.
WHEREAS, the Bayfront Park Management Trust ("Trust") requires
the rental and setup of tents, tables, and chairs at the Mildred

and Claude Pepper Bayfront" Park and Bicentennial Park to host
numerous special events and concerts; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids
No 99-00-159 was mailed to twenty-five (25) potential bidders; and
WHEREAS, three (3) responsive bids were received on
September 18, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director of the Trust recommends that
the bid received from A. Navas Party Productions, Inc. be accepted
as the lowest responsive and responsible bid;

WHEREAS, funds are available from the General Operating Budget
of the Trust;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The bid received on September .18, 2000 from
A. Navas Party Productions, Inc. for the rental and setup of tents,
tables and chairs for the Bayfront Park Management Trust ("Trust")
on an as -needed contract basis for one (1) year, with the option to
renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, in an annual
amount not to exceed $80,000 is hereby accepted, with funds
therefor hereby allocated from the General Operating Budget of the
Trust.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11
1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If
the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately
upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

SUBJECT: Resolution —
Tents, Tables and Chairs
(Rental and Setup)
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting
the bid received on September 18, 2000, from A. Navas Party Productions, Inc., an Hispanic, Miami -
Dade County Vendor, for the provision of Tents, Tables and Chairs (Rental and Setup), for the
Bayfront Park Management Trust, on an as needed contract basis for one (1) year with the option to
renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, in an annual amount not to exceed $80,000, with
funds therefore allocated from the Bayfront Park Management Trust Operating Budget.
BACKGROUND
The Bayfront Park Management Trust was created by the Miami City Commission to direct, operate,
manage and maintain all aspects of Bayfront Park. Bayfront Park is the City of Miami's Premier
public park, hosting 50 special events and concerts annually. Each of those events requires tents,
tables and chairs. The rental of tents, tables and chairs provides an essential income stream to the
Trust. Pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-159 were mailed to twenty-five (25)
potential bidders. Three (3) responsive bids were received on September 18, 2000. Funds for this
service are available from the Bayfront Park Management Trust Operating Budget. The Bayfront
Park Management Trust and the Executive Director of the Bayfront Park Management recommend
that the bid received from A. Navas Party Productions, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsive and
responsible bid.

this conference is to allow potential Proposers an opportunity to present questions to staff and obtain
clarification of the requirements of the Bid documents. It is mandatory that a representative (s) of
the bidder attend in order to qualify to bid.
