BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Commission -at -Large hereby appoints the following individual as a member of the Civil Service Board, for a term expiring on January 27, 2002: Mariano Cruz PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of October, 2000. Mr. Frazier had been elected by employees who hold Civil Service status. Charter Sec. 36(a) states that any vacancy of the Civil Service Board shall be filled by the Commission for the unexpired term. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum to the Agenda Office, we are requesting that this issue be placed on the October 26, 2000 Commission agenda. Thompson REFERENCES: Executive Secretary Civil Service Board ENCLOSURES: This is to advise you that elected Civil Service Board Member Robert Frazier passed suddenly on July 7, 2000. As per the City of Miami Charter, the City Commission must appoint an individual to fill Mr. Frazier's vacant seat for the remainder of his term. Due to the backlog of cases currently pending before the Civil Service Board, 1 am requesting that you place this request for appointment of a Board Member on the July 27, 2000 City Commission meeting agenda.
