A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 00-524, ADOPTED
JUNE 29;, 2000, FOR THE PURCHASE OF TEN (10)
MERCURY OUTBOARD ENGINES FROM MERCURY
MARINE, TO REFLECT A CHANGE IN THE STATE OF
FLORIDA CONTRACT NUMBER FROM CONTRACT NO.
120-440-00-1 TO CONTRACT NO. 120-440-01-1,
EFFECTIVE UNTIL JULY 31, 2001.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 00-524, adopted June 29, 2000,
authorized the acquisition of ten (10) Mercury outboard engines
for the
Department
of Police
from
Mercury
Marine, under existing
State
of Florida
Contract
No.
120-44-00-1,
effective until
July 31, 2000'; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Resolution No. 00-524 to
reflect a change i.n the State of Florida contract number to
Contract No. 120-440-01-1, effective until July 31St, 2001, with
the same terms, prices and conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Resolution No. 00-524, adopted June 29, 2000,
is hereby amended in the following particulars: 1/
"Resolution No. 00-524
Section 2. The allocation of Law
Enforcement Trust Funds, .in an amount not to
exceed $77,443, for the purchase. of ten (10)
Mercury outboard engines from Mercury Marine,
awarded under existing State of Florida,
Contract No. 120 44 -0 --OG 4 to 120-440-01-1
effective until July 31, 2900 2001, subject
to further extensions by the State of
Florida, is hereby authorized, with ',funds
therefor hereby allocated from the Law
Enforcement Trust Fund, Project Nos. 690001,
690002, and 690003, such expenditures having
been approved by the Chief of Police as
complying with the U. S. Department of
Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and
Florida State Statute, 932.7055, as amended.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y

words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now
in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and
unchanged material.
If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by.the City Commission.

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution amending
Resolution No. 00-524, adopted on June 29h, 2000, for the purchase of ten (10) Mercury Outboard
Engines from Mercury Marine, for the Police Department, to reflect a new State of Florida,
Contract No. 120-440-01, effective through July 31", 2001, under the same term, price and
conditions.
BACKGROUND
The Department of Police received City Commission (Resolution No. 00-524) approval for the
purchase of ten (10) Mercury Outboard Engines, under State of Florida Contract No. 120-440-00-
1, effective until July 31St, 2000. A new contract has been issued by the State of Florida for this
commodity; therefore, this resolution needs to be amended to reflect the new State of Florida
Contract No. 120-440-01-1, effective until July 3152, 2001, under the same terms, price and
conditions.

A. AUTHORITY - Upon affirmative action taken by the State of Florida Department of Management Services
on July 20, 2000, a contract has been executed between the State of Florida and the designated contractors.
B. EFFECT -This contract was entered into to provide economies in the purchase of Boat Motors &
Accessories by all State of Florida agencies and institutions. Therefore, in compliance with Section 287.042,
Florida Statutes, all purchases of these commodities shall be made under the terms, prices, and conditions of
this contract and with the suppliers specified -.
C. ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS - All purchase orders shall be issued in accordance with the attached
ordering instructions. Purchaser shall order at the prices indicated, exclusive of all Federal, State and local
taxes.
All contract purchase orders shall show the State Purchasing contract number, product number, quantity,
description of item, with unit prices extended and purchase order totaled (This requirement may be waived
when purchase is made by a blanket purchase order.)

WHEREAS,' any purchases shall comply with established
procurement procedures; and
WHEREAS, funds to 'cover this expenditure have not been
included in the Police Department's., normal operating budget and
are available in the City of Miami Law Enforcement Trust Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Chief. of Police' and the City, Manager recommend
that the purchase of ten (10). Mercury outboard engines from
Mercury Marine; awarded under existing State of Florida, Contract
No. 120-440-00-1, be approved;
NOW,.THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
