A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCEREST
CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE
FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF FRANCISCO LOPEZ-BORGES,
UPON HIS UNTIMELY DEATH.
WHEREAS, Francisco Lopez -Borges, passed away on
September 24, 2000, leaving behind an outstanding record as a
candidate for Miami -Dade County Commissioner who was the first
Cuban -American to receive 45,000 votes; and
WHEREAS, Francisco Lopez -Borges was born in Caibarien
Provincia Las Villas, Cuba, and came to the United States in
1962; and
WHEREAS, included in Mr.. Francisco Lopez -Borges many
accomplishments were his leadership abilities that enabled him to
be adored throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of.the City Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest
sympathy to the family and friends of Francisco Lopez -Borges;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. On: behalf of the citizens of the City of
Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and
friends of Francisco Lopez -Borges, its deepest sympathy and
sincerest condolences, upon his untimely death.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 28th day _o -f-) September, 2000.
