One member of the DDA may be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Miami - Dade County and submitted to the City Commission for confirmation. The Commission at large is being requested to confirm the reappointment of Miami -Dade County Commissioner Jimmy Morales. There are twelve (12) members of the DDA who are appointed by the current board of directors of the authority and submitted to the City Commission for confirmation. The DDA board is submitting three renominations for confirmation by the Commission: 1. Timothy Prunka 2. Rodrigo Trujillo 3. Alvin West For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board. WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission adopted Ordinance #11538 on September 9, 1997 setting forth qualifications and procedures for the appointments to the Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, on November 19, 1999 the DDA Board adopted Rules of Procedures (By-laws) for the Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, there are seats on the board that expire on August 31, 2000; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance and Rules of Procedures, the Chairman of the board formed a Nominating Committee to identify and consider qualified individuals for possible appointment to the DDA Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, upon completion of the nominating process, the Nominating Committee recommended nominees to the DDA Board for consideration; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the DDA has approved said nominees; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.
