HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-00-0798J-00-845 9/14/00 RESOLUTION NO. 00— 7 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RELATED TO THE CULTURAL FRIDAYS EVENT TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2000 IN THE AREA OF SOUTHWEST 8TH STREET AND SOUTHWEST 15TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF ALL FEES AND COSTS PERMISSIBLE BY LAW; AUTHORIZING THE PROVISION OF IN-KIND SERVICES BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE, SOLID WASTE, AND PARKS AND RECREATION; CONDITIONING SAID AUTHORIZATIONS UPON THE ORGANIZERS: (1) OBTAINING ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW; (2) PAYING FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT; (3) OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE; AND (4) COMPLYING WITH ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The waiver of all fees and permits permissible by the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, and the provision of in-kind services by the Departments of Police, Solid Waste and Parks and Recreation are hereby authorized for the Cultural Fridays event, to be held on September 29, 2000, in the area of Southwest 8th Street and Southwest 15th Avenue, Miami, Florida. The herein authorizations are hereby conditioned upon the organizers: (1) obtaining all permits required by law; (2) paying for all other costs of City services and applicable fees associated with said event; (3) obtaining insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager or designee; and (4) complying with all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the City Manager or designee. It has brought to the City thousands of visitors that enjoy the evening with art, food and music. Since the event is still in the beginning stages and private sponsorship is still being worked on, therefore, I respectfully request that the City waive personnel;., solid waste and equipment cost incurred by the September 29th, 2000 event. I appreciate your attention in this matter.
