A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING A CAP ON THE USER FEE OF $5,000
PER EVENT DAY FOR THE PRESENTATION OF
MATCHSEATS.COM COMMUNITY CHALLENGE 2000, A
SOCCER MATCH BETWEEN JAMAICA HARBOUR VIEW
F.C. AND COLOMBIA DEPORTIVO CALI, 2000, TO BE
CONDUCTED BY LOGOSPORT, INC. AT THE ORANGE
BOWL STADIUM ON JULY 25, 2000, SAID
AUTHORIZATION CONDITIONED UPON THE
ORGANIZERS: (1) PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY
COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES
ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT, (2) OBTAINING
INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT
AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR
DESIGNEE, AND (3) COMPLYING WITH ALL
CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE
PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH
LOGOSPORT, INC. FOR SAID PURPOSE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. A cap on the user fee of $5,000 per event day
is hereby authorized for the presentation of Matchseats.com
Community Challenge 2000, a soccer match between Jamaica Harbour
Vi.ew,F.C. and Colombia Deportivo Cali, 2000, to be conducted by
Logosport, Inc. at the Orange Bowl Stadium on July 25, 2000, said
authorization conditioned upon the organizers: (1) paying for
all necessary costs of City services and applicable fees
associated with said event, (2) obtaining insurance to protect

the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager or
designee, and (3) complying with all conditions and limitations
as may be prescribed by the City Manager or designee.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorizedl� to
execute all necessary document(s), in a form acceptable to the
City Attorney, with Logosport, Inc. for said purpose.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor./

The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all
requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not
limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

I respectfully request that the City Commission consider the cap on user fee for use of
Orange Bowl by Logosport. Logosport will be presenting a professional soccer match
between Jamaica Harbour View F.C. and Colombia Deportivo Cali on July 25th of this
year. This event is expected to produce net revenues to the City in excess of $30,000.

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution establishing
a cap of the User Fee for the use of the Orange Bowl Stadium by Logosport, Inc., for the
presentation of Matchseats.com Community Challenge 2000, a professional soccer match between
1 Jamaica Harbour View F.C. and Colombia Deportivo Cali, 2000 on July 25, 2000.

BACKGROUND
The Department of Conferences, Conventions, and Public Facilities recommends that the Use Fee
for this event be capped at $5,000 in order to secure this soccer match at the Orange Bowl Stadium.
The organizers of this event have expressed their desire to hold more events of this caliber in the
future at the Orange Bowl.
The City will receive a Ticket Surcharge and retain all revenues from food & beverages, the sale of
parking spaces, in addition to the Use Fee. The event organizers will pay for all necessary costs of
City services and applicable fees associated with the event. This event is expected to produce net
revenues to the City in excess of $30,000.
