A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
APPOINTING AN INDIVIDUAL AS A MEMBER OF THE
BOARDS AND COMMITTEES REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR A
TERM AS DESIGNATED HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individual is hereby appointed
as a member of the Boards and Committees Review Committee, for a
term which shall expire in one year, at which time said
committee's term may be extended by the City Commission, if
necessary:

Section 2. The requirement for members of the Boards and
Committees Review Committee to be qualified electors of the City
of Miami, as contained in Section 4(b) of Resolution No. 00-46,
is hereby waived with regard to Tony Crapp, Jr.

Resolution
The Boards and Committees Review Committee was created to (1) Review the City
Manager's informational reports submitted to the City Commission, pursuant to Code Sec. 2-427;
(2) Review each City Boards annual report, as required pursuant to Code Sec. 2-434; (3)
Review the information submitted by the City Clerk, as directed by this Resolution; (4) Attend
various Board meetings and interview City staff and Board members to obtain information deemed
necessary by the Committee; (5) Analyze and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of
all existing Boards; (6) Recommend regarding the continuation, consolidation and
sunsetting of any existing Boards; (7) Recommend regarding any changes which should be
made in the membership, function or any other characteristic of all Boards; and (8) Present
a report of its findings within one year from the adoption date of this Resolution.
This is a new board. Seven appointments are needed at this time. The Mayor makes two
appointments. Each member of the City Commission makes one appointment. One
Commissioner may serve as a member/chairperson of the Boards and Committees Review
Committee. In the event a City Commissioner is appointed as a member of the Committee, such
City Commissioner shall not nominate an individual to the committee. All members of the
Committee shall be qualified electors of the City of Miami unless the City Commission
waives said requirement by a four-fifths vote of its membership.
Six additional individuals, as listed below, shall attend all meetings and may participate in all
discussions:
1. City Attorney or designee;
2. City Clerk or designee;
3. City Manager or designee;
4. Special Counsel to Nuisance Abatement Board
5. Special Counsel to Code Enforcement Board
6. Special Counsel to Civil Service Board
