I have extensive experience in the cultural resources field in the Miami and south Florida area and would welcome an appointment to the HEP board to contribute my knowledge and -experience. I believe the City of Miami, lacking their own staff archaeolo an archaeologist, would benefit from having gist/historian on their preservation board. The addition of an archaeologist would bring a fresh approach to issues that may arise during permit and plan reviews that may require the expertise needed and not currently provided by a historian lacking the field experience. I also have experience dealing with environmental issues (wetland identification, mitigation, flora and fauna identification, hammock restoration, etc.), mostly as thev relate to cultural resources. Thank you for you consideration and I look forward to assisting and contributing to the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board for the City of Miami in any capacity.
