RESOLUTION NO. 00— 4`612
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
NAMING COMMISSIONER JOHNNY L. WINTON AS THE
LIAISON FOR NETWORK ACCESS POINT ("NAP")
WHICH WILL ENCOURAGE TELECOMMUNICATION
CARRIERS TO LOCATE FACILITIES IN THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY
WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT
AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable to have a
liaison related to issues concerning the establishment of a Tier
One Network Access Point ("NAP") in the Southeast
Overtown/Parkwest Community Redevelopment Area of the City of
Miami;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The Miami City Commission hereby names
Commissioner Johnny L. Winton as the liaison for Network Access
Point ("NAP") which will encourage telecommunication carriers to
locate facilities in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community

working in conjunction with the Community Redevelopment Agency
and Downtown Development Authority.
Section 3. This Resolution, shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor'.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of May 2000.

If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If
the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately
upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
