HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-00-0468.1• • J -00-410(a) 5/25/00 y RESOLUTION NO. � A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT, ADOPTING A PLANNING CALENDAR FOR THE TWENTY-SIXTH (26TH) COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT YEAR, PURSUANT TO THE APPROVED "COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING RECOMMENDATION BY CATEGORY", SET FORTH IN ATTACHMENT NO. 1, ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREIN. WHEREAS, the City 'Commission directed the Administration to prepare a planning calendar for the Twenty-sixth (26th) Community Development Block Grant Year; and WHEREAS, the City Commission further directed that the approved "Community Development Block Grant Funding Recommendation by Category", be incorporated as part of the Planning Calendar; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. The Planning Calendar for the 26th Community Development Block Grant Year is hereby adopted as follows: June 1, 2000 Availability of 26th Year Requests for Proposal, pursuant to the approved "Community Development Block Grant Funding Recommendation By Category", set forth in Attachment No. 1, attached hereto and incorporated herein. Week of June 5, 2000 District Public Hearings (contingent on and June 12, 2000 schedules of each City Commissioner; with a 10 day public notice requirement) June 2i, 2000 Deadline for submission of Requests for Proposal (Note: This is a firm deadline and proposals submitted after the due date will not be accepted) Week of July 10, 2000 Special City Commission Meeting allocating 26th Year Funds (date to be set by City Commission, but must be within the 30 day public comment period window to meet the August 16, 2000 submission date to U.S. HUD) August 16, 2000 Submission of 26th Year Annual Action Plan to U.S. HUD October 1, 2000 Commencement of 26th Year Activities Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor'/ �i If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. Year Annual Action Plan to U.S. HUD October 1, 2000 - Commencement of 26th Year Activities It is important to emphasize that the August 16, 2000 deadline is critical to meet federal regulations. However, it should also be noted that the City Commission may amend the Annual Action Plan providing that it complies with the process outlined in its Citizen Participation Plan. It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the proposed Resolution that establishes the 26h Year Planning Calendar for HUD grant activities. GCW/DF �•�^( OF •.�r ..... NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR 26TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM AND OTHER HUD FUNDED PROGRAMS THE CITY COMMISSION WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO DISCUSS PROPOSED LEVELS OF FUNDING BY CATEGORY FOR 26TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ACTIVITIES AND TO ADOPT A PLANNING CALENDAR RELATING TO THESE ACTIVITIES.
