F City Clerk 0 9 CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA 19 INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM DATE: April 25, 2000 FILE: SUBJECT: Orange Bowl Steering Committee REFERENCES: May 25, 2000 Agenda ENCLOSURES: Resolution, List of Members The Orange Bowl Steering Committee was created to (1) identify essential capital improvements to modernize and restore the Orange Bwol as a first class facility; (2) Identification of funding sources to finance said capital improvements; (3) Identification of new and enthusiastic promotional strategies to market and attract diverse events to the Orange Bowl; (4) Recommendations for the solicitation of corporate sponsorship of the Orange Bowl facility and its components (skyboxes, etc.); (5) Presentation of a report of its findings on January 26, 2000; and (6) Presentation of subsequent reports, as directed by the City Commission. Members shall be qualified electors of the City of Miami. There are seven current members who do not comply with the requirement of being qualified electors of the City of Miami. Said, requirement may be waived by a four-fifths vote of the members of the City Commission. • Mayor Carollo has two appointments to make. • Vice Chairman Gort has one nomination for seat currently held by Adolfo Henriquez, who does not comply with the City elector requirement. • Commissioner Teele has two nominations for seats currently held by Sam Burstyn and Shirlene Jackson, who do not comply with the City elector requirement. • Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Rodolfo Camps, who does not comply with the City elector requirement. • Commissioner Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Arthur Hertz, who does not comply with the City elector requirement. • Commissioner Winton has two nominations for seats currently held by Paul (Butch) Davis and Al Dotson, Jr., who do not comply with the City elector requirement. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said committee.
