ENCLOSURES:
The Department of Public Facilities has submitted a request for a grant to the Florida Inland
Navigation District (FIND) to remove 17 derelict vessels . in the dinner- key anchorage area. This
grant regi,,ires us to have matching funds in the amount of $34, 137.00. The total cost of this project
is estimated to be $68,275.00.
The state will evaluate our grant request and give us an answer by June 2000. In order to qualify for
this grant, it is extremely important that matching funds be allocated in the budget for the fiscal year
2001. In the event the grant is approved, the state would expect the project to be completed within
six months.
With your approval, The Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities will present
a resolution to the City Commission on May 11, 2000 requesting the amount of $34,137.00 as
matching funds for the FIND grant.
Please indicate your approval to allocate funds in the fiscal year 2000-2001 budget, by signing
below. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
