HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-00-0378J-00-397 4/24/00 RESOLUTION NO . 0 0 - 0 1 S A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN (7) FALCON STATIONARY RADAR K -BAND UNITS WITH TUNING FORK, OPERATOR'S MANUAL AND LOCKING HARD CASES FROM KUSTOM SIGNALS, INC., UTILIZING EXISTING MIAMI-DADE COUNTY BID NO. 6193 -3/03 -OTR, EFFECTIVE THROUGH APRIL 30, 2001, SUBJECT TO FURTHER EXTENSIONS BY THE COUNTY, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, NEIGHBORHOOD TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT UNIT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $6,643; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROJECT NUMBERS 690001, 690002, AND 690003, SUCH EXPENDITURES HAVING BEEN APPROVED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS COMPLYING WITH THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY'S "GUIDE TO EQUITABLE SHARING," AND FLORIDA STATE STATUTES, CHAPTER 932.7055, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of the Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and Florida State Statute 932.7055, as amended, authorize the expenditure of forfeiture cash or proceeds for certain law enforcement purposes not considered normal operating expenses; and WHEREAS, funds will be used to purchase seven (7) Falcon Stationary Radar K -Band Units with tuning fork, operator's manual and locking hard cases from Kustom Signals, Inc., for the Neighborhood Traffic Enforcement Units to enhance its enforcement of speeding violations; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAY 1 1 2000 Resolution No. WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief .of, Police recommend that the purchase of seven Stationary Radar K=Band Units with tuning fork, operator's manual and locking hard cases from Kustom Signals, Inc., utilizing existing Miami -Dade County Bid No. 6193 -3/03 -OTR, effective through April 30, 2001, be approved; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended adoption of this Resolution and has determined that the expenditures proposed comply with the U. S. Department of the Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and Florida State Statutes 932.7055, as amended; WHEREAS, funding is available from.the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project Numbers 690001, 690002, and 690003; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The purchase of seven (7) Falcon Stationary Radar. K -Band Units with tuning fork, operator's manual and locking hard cases from Kustom Signals, Inc., utilizing existing Miami -Dade County Bid No. 6193 -3/03 -OTR, effective through April 30, 2001, subject to further extensions by the County, for the Department of Police Neighborhood Traffic Enforcement Unit, in an amount not to exceed $6,643, is hereby approved, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, 37 8 Page 2 of 3 • Project Nos. 690001, 690002, and 690003, such expenditures having been approved by the Chief of Police as complying with the U.S. Department of the Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing," and Florida State Statutes, Chapter 932.7055, as amended.
