S.W.A.T. TEAM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $14,357.50; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.290201.6.840 WHEREAS, the Police Department needs to replace submachine guns that exceed their life span; *and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-095 were mailed to twenty (20) potential bidders; and WHEREAS, three (3) bids were received on March 22, 2000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend that the bid received from Southern Precision Armory be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and WHEREAS, funds are available from Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.840; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 2. The bid received on March 22, 2000 from Southern Precision Armory for the provision of fourteen (14) submachine guns, for the Department of Police, awarded pursuant to Invitation For Bids No. 99-00-095, in an amount not to exceed $14,357.50, is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account Code 001000.290201.6.840. The funding source identified in the resolution is not the most suitable source for the acquisition of this type of law-enforcement equipment. Twenty (20) Invitations for Bids were mailed and three (3) responses were received. Southern Precision Armory, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid and is, therefore, recommended for the award. The Police Department's S.W.A.T.
