A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI, CITY COMMISSION
APPROVING THE PROCUREMENT OF A 2000 FORD F150
4X2 PICK UP TRUCK WITH OPTIONS, FROM MACHADO
FORD, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$19,307, AWARDED UNDER EXISTING CITY OF MIAMI
BID NO. 99-00-0680; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR
FROM THE STOP ACTIVE VANDALISM EVERYWHERE
GRANT, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 142027.290519.6.840.
WHEREAS, the Department of Police has a need for a pick-up
truck to be used by the Juvenile Investigations Unit to conduct
graffiti paint -outs and other neighborhood clean-ups; and
WHEREAS, Stop Vandalism Everywhere ("SAVE") is a
comprehensive community -oriented project that combats graffiti and
vandalism; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend
that the purchase of a 2000 Ford F150 4X2 pick-up truck from Gus
Machado, Ford, awarded under City of Miami Bid No. 99-00-068, be
approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The procurement of a 2000 Ford F150 4x2
pick-up truck with options from Gus Machado Ford, for a total
amount not to exceed $19,307, awarded under existing City of Miami
Bid No. 99-00-068, for the Department of Police, is hereby
approved, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Stop
Active Vandalism Everywhere Grant, Account Code
No. 142027.290519.6.840.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'/
Ii If the -Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

RECOMMENDA'T'ION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the Police Department to utilize an existing City of Miami Bid No. 99-00-068, for the
purchase of a 2000 Ford F150 Pick-up Truck with the below listed options, from Gus Machado
Ford, located at 1200 West 49t" Street, Hialeah, Florida 33012, in an amount not to exceed
$19,307.
Funding is available from the Stop Active Vandalism Everywhere (S.A.V.E.) Grant, Account Code
No. 142027.290519.6.840.
BACKGROUND
The Miami Police Department has developed a comprehensive community oriented project,
entitled, "Stop Vandalism Everywhere" (SAVE), to combat graffiti and vandalism in our
community. This vehicle will be utilized by the Police Department's Juvenile Investigations Unit
to conduct graffiti paint -outs, and other neighborhood clean-ups.
The 2000 Ford F150 Pick-up Truck has the following options: V-8 Engine with no less than 4.6
liter and 170 Net HP, completely installed bed and tailgate liners with tie downs for six (6) foot
beds, factory installed limited slip or locking type rear axle differential for 4x2 vehicle, factory
installed HD trailer towing package for trailer loads weighing up to 5,000 pounds, factory installed
AM/FM radio, and long cab model with jump seats and a G.V.W.R. upgrade to no less than 6200
pounds and a 1400 pound payload.

REASON: The Department of Police has developed a
