Home My WebLink AboutR-00-0334J-00-330 4/14/00 • RESOLUTION NO i 334 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID OF LASER LAVELING, INC., PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BIDS NO. 99-00,-099, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A LASER GRADING SYSTEM, AT AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,543; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000-580302.6.840. WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation requires a laser grading system for the restoration of baseball and softball fields at various parks; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-099 were mailed to nineteen (19) potential bidders; and WHEREAS, two (2) bids were received on March 8, 2000; and WHEREAS, one (1) bid was deemed non-responsive for failure to bid on all items, as specified in specifications; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Parks and Recreation recommend that the bid of Laser Laveling, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF APR 2 7 2000 Resolution No. o 'a4 WHEREAS, funds are available from the Department of Parks and Recreation Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.580302.6.840; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to' this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Warshaw Parks and Recreation FROM: REFERENCES: City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid from Laser Laveling, Inc., located at 19313 US 41, Lutz, Florida 33549, a non-minority/non-local vendor, in the amount of $15,543.00 for the purchase of a laser grader for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Funding is available from the FY '99-`00, Parks and Recreation Department Operating Budget, Account No. 001000- 580302.6.840. BACKGROUND: The City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department, provides- maintenance services through its Operation's Division. The laser grader will be used for the restoration of the baseball/football fields, which are highly used by our community. Pursuant to public notice, one (1) bid was received related to Bid No. 99-00-099jor a laser grader. The Department of Parks and Recreation has analyzed the bid received pursuant to said bid. Award of the bid is recommended to Laser Laveling, Inc., which submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid.
